FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHEN SHOULD I SEEK SPEECH THERAPY SERVICES?

If you have concerns regarding your child’s speech and language skills, it is always a great idea to reach out to an SLP. We often we hear that the child will ‘grow out of it,’ ‘just wait and see’ or comparisons such as ‘my child was a late talker and is fine now.’ This may be the case for some children, however, it is not true for all children. Children reach developmental milestones at different times and in different ways. If you have concerns, please contact us to set up an appointment!

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

The first step is to reach out! You can call, email, or fill out the form on this site. Olive Tree offers a free 20-minute phone consultation where you will speak directly with Olivia about questions and concerns. Based on that information, a determination will be made whether an evaluation is needed.

WHERE ARE SERVICES PROVIDED?

Services will be provided in the convenience of your own home. Teletherapy services will be provided online. All you need is a computer or tablet with a web camera, and internet access.

HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?

The length of therapy sessions ranges from 30 minutes to one hour depending on your child's needs.

HOW FREQUENTLY WILL MY CHILD NEED THERAPY SESSIONS?

The frequency of sessions ranges for each child. This is determined based on your child's needs.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Olive Tree Speech Therapy does not accept insurance. You are responsible to pay in full for all services at the beginning of your appointment. Payment can be made via cash, check or credit card. We are considered an “out of network” provider and you may opt to receive a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

When going in-network, a set number of visits may be covered and you will only be required to pay the co-pay. When going out-of-network, you may be reimbursed fully or a percentage of the paid amount. What you are required to pay may end up being lower than your in-network specialist co-pay!

WHAT IS A SUPERBILL?

WHY GO OUT-OF-NETWORK IF I HAVE IN-NETWORK BENEFITS?

A superbill is an invoice that contains information such as diagnosis, treatment codes, fees paid and pertinent practice information. You can submit this invoice, along with a medical claim form, to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement varies depending on your specific plan and coverage. It is your responsibility to call your insurance company and ask questions regarding your plan and covered speech therapy services. If you would like a guide on questions to ask your insurance company, please give us a call and we would be happy to send it over!
